Li Jing is a Research Professor at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science in Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Distinguished Professor at Nanchang University, and a doctoral supervisor, and currently serves as the Director of IMIS NCU.He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in August 2004, and was awarded the Silver Prize of the Five-Year Best Paper Award at the First International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians (ICCM) in 2018.
His main research interests focus on the compressible Navier–Stokes equations, and he has established a series of important results, including the global existence of large-oscillation classical solutions with vacuum for the three-dimensional compressible Navier–Stokes equations.His research work has been published in internationally renowned mathematics journals such as Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, Communications in Mathematical Physics, Journal de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées, and SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis,with a total of more than 1,100 citations according to MathSciNet data,and he has served as the principal investigator of six projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including one Distinguished Young Scholars Fund project and three General Program projects.
